Advice to Your Younger Self

Some friends were talking about things they wish they'd known when they were younger. What do you wish you'd known then that you know now? If you could go back in time and give your younger self some advice, what would it be?

How I wish I would have know some things when I was a teenager or in my early 20's! But even so, would I have listened? Knowing myself...probably not. However, here are some things I thought of that I (age 36) would say to Younger Me:

You are stronger than you think you are...REALLY.
It REALLY doesn't matter what other people think.
People don't think about you as much as you worry they do-- they are too worried about themselves. So stop worrying about how your makeup looks or your clothes. You look fine.
Relax and enjoy yourself.
You're NOT FAT! No one really cares how much you weigh.
Learn how to be alone with yourself.
Trust God, and become friends with Him. He will take care of you. He is always watching over you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He has a good plan for your life.
Our trials we go through are not to make us weaker, but to make us stronger. Face them, don't run from them.
Don't put metal in the microwave! Or foil! There is a reason you are not supposed to!
Forgive people earlier. Don't waste years on resentment and hate. Remember-- hurting people hurt people.
Learn to try new things.
It'll be okay. Learn to tell yourself that.
God is the ONLY one you can truly, really trust, and the ONLY one you really SHOULD put all your trust in. People are fragile. People are people. God is strong. Trust Him instead.
Do what makes you happy... not what career other people say you "should" do or what makes the money.
Follow your heart. Listen for God's voice. Make choices accordingly.

I know that I wouldn't listen *lol* but here are some things that I would say. Good post.
Go to the Lord now. Find a good church where you feel comfortable to grow with the Lord. Don't get that credit card in college. Your parents will not pay for everything forever, learn how to manage your money. Find a way to keep your cat. Do not prograstinate. Do not always worry what others think. Listen to advice but make your own decisions.
