My heart is hurting for the people in Haiti who went through a devastating 7.0 earthquake yesterday afternoon. I wish that I could go put my arms around all of them-- the adults as well as the children--and comfort them somehow. They were already one of the poorest places in the world. They had so little to begin with, and now they are even more devastated. Why does God allow things like that? I don't know... but I do know that He is still God, and He still loves them, and that He is still in control of this world.
Prayer is a powerful thing, and one of the best things we can do. But while we're doing that, we can also provide much needed money to help relief workers, and to give the survivors food, clothing, and other necessities
Here are three of my very favorite charities:
The people at Food for the Poor are responsible, have integrity, and are incredible. Please go to their website at Foodforthepoor.org --the banner for the earthquake in Haiti in on their main page, very easy to find--and it is VERY SIMPLE to make a quick and easy donation to help out the victims there.
Another absolutely INCREDIBLE website is Hand of Hope, who I support and just LOVE-- it is Joyce Meyer's outreach. They are such amazing people, and are already sending help to Haiti as well.
Lastly, I also love Samaritan's Purse-- they help so many people around the world, and they too are sending help today as well.
Please help somehow... even if you can only send a dollar or two. If everyone sent just a small amount, that would still help so much. Something is better than nothing. And if nothing else, your prayers are still mighty before God, so please continue to pray. Thank you so, so much.
